APPROVED SURVEYOR REQUIREMENTS

 

 

APPROVED SURVEYOR STATUS

Approved Surveyor is defined in Part I, Section 2 of the Land Surveyors Act. In addition, Part II, Sections 5(1), 6(1)(a)(b) and 8 advises on the conditions under which an Approved Surveyor may take on Trainees.

 

Please also be advised as follows:

 

In accordance with the provisions of Section 10(3) of the Act, which empowers the Land Surveyors Board to “regulate its own procedure”, and Section 11(2) of the Act, which assigns to the Board responsibility for the management and control of all examinations and professional education under the Act, the Land Surveyors Board requires that surveyors desirous of taking on Trainees to prepare them for sitting the Final Examination, as provided for in Section 11(1)(b) of the Act, should apply to the Board for recognition of their status as an Approved Surveyor and, in order to facilitate a proper evaluation of their application, furnish the Board with information relating to the following:

  1. Office location
  2. Office space
  3. Field and office equipment
  4. Staff complement
  5. Two character references
  6. Curriculum Vitae:
    1. Name
    2. Address
    3. Nationality
    4. Special Interest
    5. Education
    6. Qualification
    7. Experience relating to major projects executed in the following areas:
      1. Cadastral surveys
      2. Topographical surveys
      3. Engineering surveys
    8. Professional Affiliation
