Ms Cheriese Walcott is the CEO/Commissioner of Lands for the National Land Agency (NLA) effective September 1, 2021. She is an accomplished Attorney-at-Law with over 19 years of knowledge, and a wealth of experience in land conveyance. Before being named the CEO, Cheriese started her career at the National Land Agency in the Land Titles Division as a Legal Officer in 2005 which allowed her to garner the key responsibilities to matriculate her to the Agency’s executive team.

In 2013, Cheriese was promoted to the post of Manager, Legal Services and within that same year she had another professional accomplishment by being promoted to Senior Director, Land Titles/Registrar of Titles.

Cheriese has been inspired to walk the extra mile in leadership and initiative required to sustain and further advance the NLA as an effective and interbred operational entity. Her visionary perspective earned her the opportunity to lead the Agency in its pursuit of Vision 2030. More than her role as the Chief Executive Officer she is a confidant and mentor, to both the Agency’s staff complement and customers.

Cheriese holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law which she earned from the University of West Indies and a Legal Education Certificate from Council of Legal Education attained from the Norman Manley law School. She currently is Land Divestment Advisory Committee (LDAC) and the Jamaica National Heritage Trust Board of Trustees.
